Partners in Discovery: She, Unsung

Partners in Discovery: She, Unsung In-Person

Do you enjoy research? Are you looking for a creative way to learn more about an interest or hobby? How about working collaboratively with a partner in discovery?

Engaging in a collaborative research project allows you to explore and discover more about a topic of interest. History buffs, collectors, or the intellectually curious will learn about the project She, Unsung and how using a collaborative research approach enriched the process of discovery for the presenters, Chandra McKenzie and Anne Coon.

She,Unsung focuses on women who spent at least some of their lives in Rochester. Six equally deserving heroines who possessed the remarkable ability to foresee new opportunities and the determination to make a difference in their profession will be highlighted. Some left a legacy of influence in this community; others enjoyed notoriety far beyond Rochester, but today, they have all become virtually "unsung."

Presenters Chandra McKenzie and Anne Coon share a curiosity about stories, a love of history, and a passion for research. They are both published writers who retired from academic careers at RIT. In the past, they worked together on volunteer projects for various arts and cultural organizations in the Rochester community.  Since early 2020, and during times when it was difficult to meet in person, they have been actively engaged in this collaborative project. Come for the company, be part of the talk.
