Debora McDell-Hernandez and Dr. Celia McIntosh, who were both featured individually in chapbooks from the In This Moment series, will provide an overview of how systemic racism impacts the health and healthcare outcomes of Black women. They will focus on the historical long standing, deeply-rooted inequities related to social determinants of health, structural inequality, and system failures that continue to perpetuate the cycle of inadequate care. This program is part of a series highlighting participants of In This Moment: Revolution Reckoning Reparation, a project for ten teams of Black writers and photographers to profile ten Black leaders from across the city of Rochester published by Visual Studies Workshop. The project demonstrates the breadth and scope of revolutionary work happening in the area. Dr. Celia McIntosh, DNP, RN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, SCRN, CEN, CCRN, CNRN, is president of the Rochester Regional Coalition Against Human Trafficking.
