An Introduction to Eintou Poetry In-Person

Join us for an intoduction to Eintou Poetry. Rochester writer and spoken artist Lu Highsmith will help us understand the the history and purpose of Eintou, a form of African-American poetry. The one hour Zoom session will end with the the participants writing a collective Eintou poem.

Lu Highsmith, a Rochester native, is a writer, publisher, promoter and spoken word artist. She has performed at festivals and coffee houses, nursing homes, schools, churches, art galleries, clubs, and community events throughout New York State, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Canada.

This event will meet online using Zoom. Some basic knowledge of how to use Zoom is required, such as how to join a meeting. Email invitations will be sent out to registrants 12-24 hours in advance.
