Houseplants 101: An Introduction to Plant Parenthood

Houseplants 101: An Introduction to Plant Parenthood In-Person

Houseplants are all the rage right now. Whether you're looking to spruce up your home or searching for a new recreational pastime, this is the class for you. Participants will learn the basics of houseplant care, including light, watering, fertilizer, types of soil, drainage, and when to trim or repot. No green thumb required.

About the presenter: Shelby Rae is a Rochestarian with a passion for plants. With the hundreds of thousands of plant species in the world, it's hard to be a true expert in Botany, but Shelby has been traveling the country meeting with growers, viewing plants in their natural habitats, seeking expert advice, and researching so you don't have to. You can keep up with her events and tips on Instagram @thebotanist_rochester.

Houseplants 101 will meet online using Zoom. Some basic knowledge of how to use Zoom is required, such as how to join a meeting. Email invitations will be sent out to registrants 12-24 hours in advance. Don't know how to use Zoom? We've got classes for that! Check out our full events calendar for dates and times.
