Quiet Sensory Storytime In-Person

This storytime is designed for families looking for a quieter, calmer storytime. We will be dimming the lights, playing soft instrumental music, and including quiet socializing and playtime.

All families welcome, but if your kid has a lot of energy, this storytime may not be the best fit. We recommend weekday morning (10:30am) or Wednesday evening (6:30pm) storytimes for kids looking to jump and shout.

Monday Evening Storytime is led by Stephani, our Youth Services Librarian Trainee!  Please note that Storytime staffing is subject to change depending on staff availability.

All Monday Evening Storytimes are ASL interpreted.

Henrietta Public Library is committed to creating inclusive and accessible events. To request a reasonable accommodation or discuss your needs, please contact us at Henrietta.Information@libraryweb.org or call the library at 585-359-7092. Please make all requests at least three business days in advance of the event.

At Quiet Sensory Storytime, we provide the following tools: wiggle seat cushions, ear defenders, oil drippers, 1 weighted lap butterfly, and an area with colored shapes on the floor for full-body movement. You are welcome to bring your own unobtrusive tools.

Quiet Sensory Storytimes follow the basic schedule outlined below, and typically last around 20 minutes, with the final 10 minutes for socializing and sensory play. A visual schedule is always provided.
