America 250: Clara Barton, Dansville's Own "Angel of the Battlefield" In-Person
Clara Barton is well known for her contributions to battlefield nursing and her creation of the American Red Cross. For many years she made Dansville, Livingston County, her home base because of her close association with its famous “Our Home on the Hillside” water cure and the family who operated it. Learn what her life was like there through the research that local historian Jane Oakes has done using diaries and letters from private collections.
