Sam Chandler is a pianist, composer, and educator from Duluth, Minnesota. Beginning piano lessons at age 5, Sam studied classical piano with Suzuki Instructors Denise Lindquist and John McLaird. Sam also participated in the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State Jazz Ensemble, Interlochen Center for the Arts’ Jazz and Improvisation Camp, and Shell Lake Arts Center’s Jazz Camp in addition to his high school’s Jazz band, which won the Eau Clair Jazz Festival’s Big Band Class AA Competition in 2019.

An RSMI Jazz Program alumnus and Berklee College of Music graduate, Sam’s most recent activities include continuing his education at the Eastman School of Music, where he is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies with an emphasis on Jazz Writing. Currently, he holds teaching assistant positions at the Eastman School of Music, is the Jazz Teaching Fellow at Interlochen’s Jazz and Improvisation Camp under the direction of Chris Glassman, and is a member of the board for JAM Concert Series, a non-profit organization aimed at highlighting the vibrant Jazz community in the Duluth-Superior area.

Max Robbins is a professional trumpet player, pianist, composer, theatre teaching artist, and music educator based in Rochester. He grew up immersed in both classical and jazz traditions, earning an honors diploma from the Eastman Community Music School while studying with Eastman School of Music faculty and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra musicians. An active member of the Rochester music scene, Max frequently performs with Eastman School of Music faculty and local musicians.
