I Survived...Book Club

I Survived...Book Club In-Person

The I Survived… Book Club is a program for kids in grades 3-6 who enjoy the I Survived…book series by Lauren Tarshis! Each meeting, we will be focused on a different book in the series. We will talk about the events that happened in the books, do some related activities, and have fun! Note that you do not need to read the book ahead of time, but of course, you can if you would like to!

This month's book is I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 by Lauren Tarshis. Copies of the chapter book and audiobook are available at the Children's Desk in the library for check out. The e-audiobook is also available for checkout through the Libby app. At this month's gathering, we will watch real film footage taken one month after the San Francisco earthquake, play Fact or Fiction: Trivia, talk about the book and munch on popular snacks from 1906, and complete the Earthquake Challenge: Making Structures That Could Survive an Earthquake (disclaimer: real buildings will not be constructed and *fingers crossed* real earthquakes will not be experienced!).
