"This is My Grandmother" Screening and Panel Discussion with Our Voices Project In-Person

Our Voices Project, a Rochester-based production company led by Jackie McGriff and Courtney Shouse, will screen their film This is My Grandmother and hold a panel discussion featuring other Indigenous mentors discussing the impacts of their grandmothers. They will also discuss the making of the film and what they hope to achieve next.

This is My Grandmother chronicles the stories of two Indigenous families, one of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and one of the Tuscarora Nation. These stories, told across three generations, cover growing up both on and outside of the reservation; traditions and cultural norms; and the lack of Indigenous history in classrooms. Read more about the film here. Please register!
