Poverty, by America book discussion

Poverty, by America book discussion In-Person

Join us for a discussion of Matthew Desmond's powerful 2023 book, Poverty, by America. Desmond won a Putlizer Prize for his work on his previous book, Evicted, about families struggling to stay housed. Now, in Poverty, by America, Desmond turns his attention to why the U.S. has more poverty than other advanced democracies.

Read the book in advance of Desmond's visit to Rochester the following week on Wednesday, March 6th at 4:00pm, where he will speak at Innovation Theater, 131 Chestnut Street, presented by the Rochester Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative. Visit here for more information and to get tickets.

Copies of the book will be available on the hold shelf at the library in regular and large print. You can also find digital or audio copies via the Libby app.
